‘NEW INDIA – OMAN’s Clients Meet – 2007 held at Hotel Intercontinental
 
A  flamboyant & colourful get-together of ‘New India Assurance-Oman’ clientele – corporate clients and other associates – was held at the Palm Gardens of Muscat Intercontinental Hotel on 6th December 2007 evening under the auspices of various dignitaries, diplomats and corporate CEOs.  HE Anil Wadhwa - Ambassador of India, Mr Eduardo Faleiro, Commissioner for NRI Affairs, Government of Goa, Mrs Asha Nair, Dy General Manager (Global Operations) from the corporate office of New India in Mumbai, were present in the function.

The event started with a Welcome speech by Dr J Retnakumar, Resident Manager for Oman Operations of The New India Assurance Co Ltd, who in his precise  speech expressed his gratitude to all patrons of ‘New India’ and extended a hearty welcome to all the guests. Key note address was made by Mrs Asha Nair, Dy General manager from New India’s corporate office. The other  main speakers at the function were  HE Anil Wadhwa, Ambassador of India and Mr Eduardo Faleiro, Hon’ble Commissioner for NRI Affairs.

Launching of three new insurance schemes was made at the function – ‘Travel Comfort’ was launched by Mr Eduardo Faleiro, ‘Smart Home’ by HE Anil Wadhwa, Ambassador of India and ‘Family Health’ policy was launched by Mr Amir Ahmed, Group Managing Director of Teejan Group of Cos.  These three new insurance schemes will be operational with effect from the new year, says Dr J Retnakumar. 

An enthralling Ghazal concert by Ghazal Maestro Mr Pankaj Udhas was another attraction of the evening.  Mr Pankaj Udhas flew down to Muscat  for performing exclusively for New India’s clients and patrons and a two-and-half hours mesmerizing performance was brought out by Mr Pankaj Udhas, to the delight of packed Palm Gardens Lawn at Intercontinental. The evening programme was concluded by mid-night with a cocktail dinner.
 
     
     
     
     
 
 
Hon’ble Minister of Overseas Indian Affairs, Mr Vayalar Ravi visits Oman
 
The Hon’ble Minister of Overseas Indian Affairs, Mr Vayalar Ravi was on an official visit to Oman from 26th October 2007.  In this connection, ‘New India’ organized a luncheon to honour the visiting Minister along with  CEOs of Indian Companies operating in Oman.  The luncheon meeting was attended by more than 75 Executives representing various Indian companies
 
     
 
 
Churning the young minds with  awareness on Traffic Safety.
 
The ‘Drive safe, save life’ essay writing competition conducted by The New India Assurance Co Ltd was held at the Indian School Al Ghubra (ISG) recently.  More than 500 students nominated from  English and Arabic medium schools from the entire Sultanate of Oman participated in the competition held on October 22, 2007.

Thirteen students from nine schools (five Indian schools and four English-Arabic schools) grabbed various prizes in this highly contested essay competition.  The prizes were awarded to the winners at a glittering prize-giving veremony held at the ISG under the auspices of  HE Khalil bin Abdullah Al Khonji,  Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) and in the presence of HE Anil Wadhwa, the Indian Ambassador.  Dignitaries from Ministry of Education, Royal Oman Police and Capital Market Authority were also present at the function, apart from ‘New India’s corporate clients’ representatives.
 
     
     
 
 
 
CLIENTS’ MEET – 2006
 
Clients Meet – 2006 was held with great pomp and grandeur at the Lawns of Sheraton Oman Hotel on 4th December 2006.  Indian Ambassador H.E. Ashok Kumar Attri, Mr G Srinivasan, General Manager – Global operations from the corporate head office, Mumbai, H.E. Yahya Bin Said Al Jabri, Executive President of Capital Market Authority and other dignitaries from various sectors were present in the function in which more than 600 plus representatives of New India’s corporate clients were present.

Formal launching of ‘Better Health’ Insurance Scheme was made at the function by H.E. Ashok Kumar Attri, while Mr G Srinivasan, General Manager inaugurated the New India – Oman web-site, www.newindiaoman.com
 
     
     
     
     
     
   
     
 

TRAFFIC SAFETY SEMINAR – “DRIVE SAFE, SAVE LIFE’ HELD AT TRAFFIC SAFETY INSTITUTE OF ROYAL OMAN POLICE AT SEEB ON 28.08. 2006.

 
New India Assurance Company – Oman in association with the Directorate General of Traffic, Royal Office Police conducted ‘drive safe, save life’ seminar.
A major drive to bring down the increasing number of road accident victims/deaths, which has been documented at 24 per 100,000 population in Oman considered to be one of the highest

The ‘drive safe, save life’ seminar was conducted by The New India Assurance Co Ltd, in association with the Directorate General of Traffic, ROP at the Traffic Safety Institute in Seeb, on 28th August 2006.

The seminar which was an eye-opener in terms of the revealing statistics  post accident trauma, and the sheer senseless loss of lives on the road, clearly highlighted the need to make all around efforts to fight the increasing accident  trend and its tragic aftermath.
 
 
     
     
 
 
TOGETHER THEY SAIL – ‘NEW INDIA’ S FAMILY GET TOGETHER
 
A  multicoloured and  flamboyant  get-together of the entire staff members of the New India Assurance Co Ltd – Oman and their family members was held at the ‘Nizwa Ball Room’ of Oman Sheraton under the auspices of Dr J. Retnakumar – Resident Manager for Sultanate of Oman operations and  Mr Abdul Rahim Jaffar – Chairman of M/s Abdul Aziz & Brothers LLC, the Chief Agents for The New India Assurance Co Ltd.

The evening witnessed  some exciting cultural programmes of Arabic and Indian dance and music presented by the staff and their family members.  Cultural programmes started with a Song recital by none other than the Resident Manager Dr Retnakumar, which a pleasant surprise to most of the gathering.  Sparkling dance performance by the Omani children were enjoyed by all those present.  Indian dance and music by the  staff and family members were also brilliant, followed by Indoor games  which one all thoroughly enjoyed.
