MUSCAT New India Assurance Co Ltd, the Indian multinational insurance giant celebrated their glorious achievements of two prestigious awards recently with their vast clientele, in a glittering function held at Hotel Grand Hyatt, Muscat, on 5th February 2010. The first one is for being the Best Brand among all insurance companies in the Sultanate (No. 1 brand in insurance category) and another one for winning the 9th position in the overall category of ‘Oman’s Greatest Brands 2010 – 2011’.
Dr Shashi Tharoor, the Indian Minister of State of External Affairs was the Chief Guest at the function and HE Anil Wadhwa, India’s Ambassador to the Sultanate was the Guest of Honour. Congratulating the New India Assurance – Oman for its exemplary work and the awards as well as recognition received from the general public, Dr Shashi Tharoor said “it is indeed a proud moment for all of us that the company has been voted as the No. 1 brand among insurance companies and has secured the 9th position among the 130 greatest brands in Oman.” The minister commented that this achievement is even more remarkable considering the fact that these awards had been won by an Indian company from the insurance sector in the face of stiff competition from international recognized global brands.
Mr S K Virmani, Managing Director of BEC Group of companies, who was recently awarded the prestigious Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award by the President of India, was felicitated at the function by New India Assurance Company.
Dr J Retnakumar, Resident Manager of New India Assurance in his speech thanked all the clients and well wishers of New India Assurance Co, and said ‘without all your support and co-operation we would not have been there, where we now stand – as the Best Brand in Insurance’.
Dr Retnakumar introduced Mr K V Francis as the new chief coming in his place. Mr K V Francis, while congratulating Dr Retnakumar for accomplishing the coveted recognition, promised to continue with the good performance of New India – Oman, with his fullest involvement and guidance from the corporate management.
